Account Deletion
Last updated:
This page explains how to delete your account in My Flirt (called Flörtüm in Turkish), the Android app published on Google Play by TATBIQAT ALEASR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY L.L.C (package name com.flortumapp.date). It also tells you plainly what happens to your data afterwards.
In short: deleting your account closes it and removes your profile from the app. It does not erase everything. After deletion we keep a copy of your member record, your messages (depending on your app version) and device and connection records. We do not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion period to this data; it is deleted when it is no longer needed. You can ask us to delete it at contact@androidapps.app. The sections below list what is kept and why.
Delete your account in the app
- Open My Flirt and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll down to the settings list and tap Delete My Account.
- Confirm by tapping Yes, Delete it!
If your app is in Turkish, the steps are: Profil → Hesabımı Sil → Evet, silmek istiyorum!
Your account is closed right away and you are signed out.
Your app version matters. This page describes account deletion in app versions that use our new account system. If you delete your account from an app version that still uses our earlier server system, your messages and your three profile photos are deleted straight away instead of being kept. In both cases, a copy of your member record and your location, IP address, device and install-referrer records are kept after deletion, as described below.
Delete your account without the app
If you can no longer use the app (for example, you uninstalled it or cannot sign in), send us an email:
- To: contact@androidapps.app
- Subject: Account deletion request
- From: the email address you used to sign up, or the email of the Google account you used with “Sign in with Google”
- Include: the name shown on your profile, if you remember it
We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours before we delete it, so that no one else can delete your account. We handle requests as quickly as we can, and always within the time the law gives us (for example one month under the GDPR, 30 days under KVKK).
Before you delete
- Subscriptions are not cancelled automatically. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play. Cancel it first in the Google Play Store: open Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. If you do not cancel, Google Play may keep charging you.
- Your Gold balance is set to zero. Any Gold left in your account is removed when the account is deleted and cannot be restored. For refunds, see our Billing page.
- Deletion cannot be undone. You cannot reopen a deleted account. If you sign up again, you start with a new account.
What happens when you delete
When your account is deleted:
- your account is closed and you can no longer sign in to it;
- your profile is removed from the app and other members no longer see it;
- you are signed out on all devices: your sign-in tokens and device sessions are removed;
- pending replies to your conversations are cancelled;
- your Gold balance is set to zero.
What we keep after deletion
Deleting your account does not erase all of your data. This is what we keep:
| Data | What happens to it | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| A copy of your member record: email address, password hash (not your password itself), Google account ID, name, age, gender, country, phone and spoken languages, bio, interests, the file names of your profile photos, device ID, sign-up date, last-seen date, Gold balance at deletion and app version | Copied to a separate archive of deleted accounts before your account is removed | No fixed automatic deletion period; deleted when no longer needed |
| Your messages: the text you wrote and the photos you sent in chats, in all your conversations | Kept; not deleted with your account. Photos you sent in chats are deleted from our servers 180 days after they were sent. | No fixed automatic deletion period; deleted when no longer needed |
| Profile photo files | No longer shown in the app; the files may stay on our servers | No fixed automatic deletion period; deleted when no longer needed |
| Location records: coordinates you shared and the address, city, district and neighbourhood worked out from them | Not removed at the moment of deletion | No fixed automatic deletion period; deleted when no longer needed |
| Security and device records: IP addresses, device IDs and the app install source (install referrer) | Not removed at the moment of deletion | No fixed automatic deletion period; deleted when no longer needed |
| Purchase records: products, order numbers, amounts, currencies and Google Play purchase data | Kept | As long as required by applicable tax and accounting law |
| Data held by our service providers (for example push notification, analytics and crash-reporting providers) | Kept by those providers under their own retention rules; see our Sub-processors page | According to each provider's own retention settings |
Why we keep this data
We keep the data above for these purposes:
- Preventing fraud and ban evasion (member record, device and security records). For example, a device that was banned cannot be used to sign up again. We also use the member record for aggregate statistics.
- Legal requests, complaints and disputes (messages). So that we can look into a conversation if there is a legal request, a complaint or a dispute about it.
- Meeting legal obligations. For example, keeping purchase records for accounting and tax purposes, and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
We do not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion period to this data. It is deleted when it is no longer needed for these purposes.
Nobody reads kept messages unless one of the reasons above requires it. You can object to this, or ask us to delete this data or restrict its processing, by writing to contact@androidapps.app. We will do so unless the law requires us to keep it.
You can read more about how we process your data, and about your rights, in our Privacy Policy. If you live in Türkiye, see also the KVKK Aydınlatma Metni.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
- Delete a conversation. In the app, go to your chat list, press and hold the conversation, then confirm with Yes, Delete it! This removes the messages of that conversation from our servers, not only from your phone.
- Block a profile. When you flag and block a profile, the conversation with that profile is also deleted.
- Ask us. To ask for other specific data to be deleted while keeping your account, email contact@androidapps.app and tell us what you want deleted. We will tell you what we can delete and what we have to keep (for example purchase records required by tax law), and why, within the time the law gives us.
